NHL All-Star Game 2024: Teams Set After Player Draft
Toronto to Host Major Hockey Event
Matthews and Bedard Lead All-Star Selections
The National Hockey League (NHL) has announced the rosters for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game, which will be held at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. Auston Matthews and Connor Bedard are among the 32 players selected to participate in the event.Rather than dividing the players by divisions, the NHL has designated four captains who will select their 11-man rosters. The captains and their teams are:
- Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers)
- Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs)
- Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche)
- Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins)
The rosters were finalized after the Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Player Draft on Thursday. The draft featured a new format in which the captains selected players from a pool of eligible players. Each captain was required to select at least one player from each of the four divisions (Metropolitan, Atlantic, Central, and Pacific).
The 2024 NHL All-Star weekend will also feature the return of the player draft, a revamped skills contest, and a local MVP. The skills contest will feature new events such as the "Breakaway Relay" and the "Puck Control Relay."
